Beyond the Veil: Exploring Energy, Consciousness & Dying

Although I originally posted this on Facebook many years ago with the passing of my precious dog Harley, I realize that this is a discussion that will never get old. So, it is my hope this may provide some comfort to you or someone you know.

Before I even begin to discuss the subject of death and dying, I would first like to state that everything I share is information I have learned over the years, and although this resonates as true for me, it may not for you. Therefore, I ask that you accept only what resonates with you and disregard the rest. I am not here to convince you of anything, only to offer you loving support at a difficult time in your life.

As an energy healer, I am continually reminded of how we are energetic beings. I understand this concept can be hard to comprehend, especially when most of what we experience is in concrete, tangible form. Honestly, I stumble to find the right words to explain this divine energy (prana, chi, life force) that flows through you, through me, and through all things. Although I am at a loss to find these words, I can assure you that this flow is as real as our physical form.

At this point, you may be wondering, what does this have to do with death or dying? Yet this energy that I am trying so hard to define has so much to do with the process of dying.

This consciousness is not only your true essence, but also what embodies the divine virtues that our soul's have journeyed with over many, many lifetimes.

I am aware that this is a sensitive subject to discuss and assure you that is one I do not take lightly. As I sit here typing these words, there is a part of me that thinks to myself, ‘what the heck am I doing?’ Yet when I ask myself this very same question from a deeper level, my response is quite different.

In one of the courses I had taken, it is stated that my primary duty as an energetic healer is to heal, which includes helping someone heal when they are facing death. My role is to help this person and their family member(s) face their fears and help them prepare for this sacred transition in whatever way I can. Although there is always possibility of a healing miracle - not by the healer, but by the individual and the Divine themselves - sometimes the miracle is the transformation from physical to eternal form. Yet we as western culture have yet to embody that, but many cultures celebrate this rite of passage.

I realize that this type of forum is not the most private way to deal with something so sacred; however, it is the only way I know how to reach those who this message is meant to reach.
